Sasha Velour’s Nightgowns

Co-Producer and Development Producer

8-part docuseries, Roku Originals, Quibi

Welcome to NightGowns—a truly queer night of theater from RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Sasha Velour. Part performance, part portrait, the series follows Sasha and her inclusive cast of drag artists as they craft the lip-sync numbers of their dreams.

Produced by the Academy-Award nominated team at The Documentary Group, each episode delved into the personal lives and artistic practices of one performer, culminating in an epic lip-sync number directed by renowned music video director, Sophie Muller.  It was hailed as “among the most life-affirming shows you could find on any platform” (The New York Times), "a feast for the eyes and a blanket for the heart" (GQ), "a type of queer media never before seen on TV" (Screenrant), and "a vision that feels nostalgic and aspirational in equal measure" (The Los Angeles Times). NightGowns was also featured on "Best Shows to Watch" lists by Vulture, Glamour, Elle, The A.V. Club, TIME Magazine, and more.

I was deeply involved in the project from conception (shooting and editing the sizzle that sold the series to the network), in the field, story producing in post, and seeing the project through until final delivery.
